BEAR’S DEN – ABOVE THE CLOUDS OF POMPEII

I Bear’s Den sono una band britannica con una carriera iniziata nel 2012. Nel corso degli anni, hanno rilasciato un totale di 5 album e hanno subito alcune modifiche nella loro formazione.

La band è stata fondata nel 2012 da tre membri principali: Andrew Davie, Kevin Jones e Joey Haynes. All’inizio, si sono esibiti in vari eventi musicali e hanno aperto i concerti di artisti noti come Ben Howard, Nathaniel Rateliff, The Staves, Mumford & Sons e Daughter. Nel 2012 e nel 2013 hanno pubblicato i loro primi EP, intitolati “Agape” e “Without/Within”.

Nel 2014, hanno fatto il loro debutto con l’album “Islands” sotto l’etichetta Communion Records, che ha raggiunto la posizione 49 nella classifica degli album britannici. Questo album è stato successivamente certificato come disco d’argento nel Regno Unito, avendo venduto oltre 60.000 copie. Dopo la pubblicazione di “Islands”, il gruppo ha intrapreso una lunga serie di concerti.

Nel 2016, hanno lanciato il loro secondo album intitolato “Red Earth & Pouring Rain”, che ha raggiunto la sesta posizione nella classifica britannica e la ventiseiesima in quella tedesca. Nel periodo successivo, Joey Haynes ha lasciato la band, e Christof van der Ven lo ha sostituito per le esibizioni dal vivo dal 2016 al 2017.

A partire dal 2018, i Bear’s Den hanno continuato la loro attività come un duo, con Andrew Davie e Kevin Jones. Nel mese di aprile 2019, hanno pubblicato l’album “So That You Might Hear Me”, che ha raggiunto la tredicesima posizione nella classifica britannica, seguito da un tour internazionale.

Nel 2020, la band ha pubblicato l’album “Fragments” in collaborazione con Paul Frith e successivamente un EP natalizio intitolato “Christmas, Hopefully”. Nel maggio 2022, hanno rilasciato l’album “Blue Hours”, che ha raggiunto la sesta posizione nella classifica britannica.
